We work closely with government, development agencies, tourism practitioners and experts, academia, the private sector, and local communities to generate evidence based solutions.
Founded in 2022 by a consortium of highly trained and competent tourism and enterprise development consultants, researchers and educators, TRDC brings together like minded tourism professional experts who are inspired and driven by a common interest to improve the tourism and hospitality landscape by undertaking knowledge creation through quality research, supporting individuals and enterprises to adopt innovative and evidence-based solutions, capacity building through trainings and mentorship, exchange of ideas and information sharing and supporting organisations develop plans and policies that empower.
Strategic planning is one of the core strengths of TRDC. We have supported several organisations and enterprises to identify and work towards their organizational goals and objectives. Over the last ten years, TRDC has successfully built our capacity to support destinations develop and implement development plans. Our role has always featured prominently during program design, monitoring and evaluation. We have worked on projects in areas of tourism development, strategic planning, community tourism, urban tourism, agrotourism, culinary tourism, handicraft development, water and sanitation development, poverty eradication and disaster management among others. Some of the clients include Government Ministries and Departments, UN organizations and other reputable international organization.
TRDC employs a collaborative research approach where the research team engages the client to define the research need, delineate the scope, design the methodology, and identify the desired outcomes. In this process, we design and conduct studies, surveys, or investigations tailored to meet the unique needs and objectives of a particular individual, organization, or entity. TRDC presents the findings and recommendations in a format that is easily understandable and applicable to the client’s context. This provides the client with customized, in-depth and valuable information and data to inform their decision-making, strategic planning, and solving of the issues at hand.
TRDC provides enterprise development services that enhances a business’s capacity to grow with in a dynamic and competitive environment. We also enable destinations to contribute to the growth and sustainability of tourism businesses and fostering the overall economy.
